Diving Talks 2026 Returns to Lisbon with Global Diving Community

Diving Talks will return to Lisbon from 23 to 25 October 2026, bringing together divers, explorers, scientists, photographers, researchers, educators and representatives from across the international diving industry.
Held annually in Portugal since 2021, the event combines a diving conference with an industry exhibition, with a programme built around presentations, workshops, discussion and interaction between speakers, visitors and participating organisations.
According to the organisers, Diving Talks was created around the idea that the diving community benefits when people have opportunities to meet, exchange experiences, ask questions and discuss developments affecting the underwater world.
A Programme Covering Different Areas of Diving
The 2026 programme will bring speakers from different areas of diving and underwater exploration to Lisbon.
Topics are expected to include expeditions, underwater discoveries, diving safety, human performance, technology, conservation, underwater photography and developments affecting the future of diving.
Rather than focusing on a single discipline, Diving Talks aims to bring together perspectives from recreational and technical diving, freediving, science, exploration, education and the wider diving industry.
Presentations on the main stage will be complemented by workshops and other sessions throughout the event.
Conversation Beyond the Main Stage
Interaction between speakers and visitors is one of the central elements of the Diving Talks format.
The organisers say the event is deliberately structured to allow conversations to continue beyond formal presentations, with speakers, divers, researchers and industry representatives able to meet throughout the weekend.
The exhibition area will also give visitors an opportunity to speak directly with participating companies and organisations about diving equipment, technology, services and new developments within the sector.
This approach differs from a conventional exhibition focused primarily on displaying products. Participating companies are encouraged to engage directly with divers and other professionals, discuss how equipment and services are being used, and hear feedback from people working in different parts of the diving community.
Connecting Divers and the Industry
For manufacturers and diving organisations, the event provides an opportunity to meet instructors, explorers, researchers, photographers and divers in an environment centred on discussion and knowledge exchange.
The organisers argue that closer communication between those who design, manufacture, teach, sell and use diving equipment can help companies better understand the needs of the diving community.
For visitors, the format means discussions that begin during a presentation can continue during workshops, in the exhibition area or during informal meetings throughout the event.
